Micki: As a Local, I Use the Area All Year Round

Micki Øder McHale, head chef at Fredensborg Store Kro, lives and works among North Zealand’s royal castles. He spends his free time running and walking through the historic surroundings, and he always knows where to find the best beach, ice cream and local experiences nearby.

1. Fredensborg Palace & Nordmandsdalen

A walk through Nordmandsdalen is perfect both privately and professionally – when decisions need thinking through, and ideas need space to land.

2. Frederiksborg Castle, the Castle Lake & the Baroque Garden

As a local, I use the area all year round, both for peaceful family walks and for runs through the historic surroundings.

3. Tisvilde Beach

My absolute go-to place when the weather is good and the day should be spent by the water.

When I’m cooking at home, this is where I like to buy my ingredients – the quality is top-notch. Micki Øder McHale

4. Lake Esrum / Sørup Ice Cream & Coffee House

If I’m in the mood for ice cream, Sørup Ice Cream & Coffee House is my go-to spot. It’s also perfect for taking the Store Kro staff on a warm summer day.

5. Esromgaard

When cooking at home, I love buying ingredients here – the quality is excellent. My son and I also have a yearly tradition of picking pumpkins here for Halloween.
