Louise Køster: A Fairytale-Like Place Beyond the Ordinary World
For Louise Køster and her husband Thomas, who runs Rabarbergaarden, it’s all about stepping away from everyday busyness and finding special places of their own. Places that inspire, awaken memories, and slow the pace down. Here, they share their hidden gems in North Zealand.

1. Torup Market and the Dyssekilde Eco-Community
At Torup Market, held every second Saturday during the season, we find the finest selection of local producers and artisans. Alongside excellent local beer, beautiful vegetables from nearby growers, and delicious bread from Kornsang, you’ll meet some of the passionate people who keep these small rural communities alive. It’s authentic and truly a unique experience.
2. Nødebohuse Beach
When, like us, you work long hours every day throughout the season, it’s important to have a special place where you can completely unwind and step away from your usual routines. The beach at Nødebohuse is our special Sunday-evening escape after closing time. It’s peaceful, with beautiful water and a wonderful beach.
3. Munkeruphus
Art means a great deal to us. We’re inspired by artists’ perspectives on nature, life, the world, and especially materials. Munkeruphus is a truly special exhibition space. With its unique location close to the sea yet tucked away in the forest, it feels like a fairytale place slightly outside the ordinary world. And the house itself is so beautiful, with wonderfully atmospheric rooms. You’ll also find delicious food and excellent coffee here.
If you truly want to taste a place and a region, you should eat what grows in the local soil. Louise KøsterRabarbergaarden
4. Lerbjerggaard Andelsgaarde
For us, local, organic, and regenerative ingredients are among the most important things. That’s why we celebrate all the producers in our area. If you really want to understand a place, you should taste what grows in its soil.
At Lerbjerggaard, part of Andelsgaarde, Nanna and Christoffer have built an incredible vegetable farm based on craftsmanship, respect for the land, and curiosity about how they can contribute to a better world – especially through food. They have the loveliest seasonal vegetable stall, as well as guided tours and communal dining events.

5. Rusland
The area around Rudolph Tegner Museum, also known as Rusland, is very close to our hearts because it reminds us of our childhood memories from Skagen and Northern Jutland. Here, you’ll find stretches of heathland with rolling hills covered in heather and a landscape otherwise mostly found in northern Denmark. With Tegner’s sculptures scattered throughout the area, Rusland becomes a place that quiets the noise of the world around you. Peace, nature, and beauty.
