Victor Cardenau: Without Comparison the Best Eggs We’ve Tasted in Denmark

Victor Cardenau runs CARDENAU near Lake Arresø with his sister Claire, hosting communal dinners and developing food products. For Victor, the best experiences lie beyond the main roads – in small local places filled with great flavours and passionate people.

1. Lynæs Surfcenter

A fantastic local spot with beautiful views, a relaxed atmosphere and cosy facilities. Well worth a visit even if you don’t surf. Perfect for a day in the fresh air.

Tip: stop by their new restaurant down by the pier.

2. Stengården

Our go-to organic spot for eggs, seasonal vegetables and other great ingredients. Wonderful people and, without comparison, the best eggs we’ve tasted in Denmark. We always buy 120 eggs at a time.

3. Tothaven

If you love goat products, Tothaven is a must-visit. Goat cheese, goat yoghurt, and handmade goat ice cream – it all works, and it tastes incredibly good.

At the same time, it’s a visitor farm that’s perfect for families, with fresh air and a delicious goat ice cream on a stick.

4. Lake Arresø

A walk around Lake Arresø is something truly special. The nature here is unlike anywhere else, and if you take your time, you’ll discover completely unique stretches along the way. Beautiful, peaceful, and perfect all year round.

If you walk further down, you’ll find yourself almost undisturbed on one of North Zealand’s most beautiful beaches Victor Cardenau

5. Liseleje

Our favourite seaside town. We pack a picnic basket, buy freshly baked bread in town, and head to the beach. Most people stay close to the entrance, but if you walk a little further, you’ll find yourself almost undisturbed on one of North Zealand’s most beautiful beaches.

6. Restaurant Knud

The closest you’ll get to freshly caught fish straight onto your plate. Jens and the rest of the team are warm and welcoming, and during summer we love sitting outside watching the fishing boats return to harbour. There’s something special about eating the catch right where it was landed.
