Veteran trains for Kids: An amazing experience for the whole family
Bring the family to Græsted Station for Veteran Trains for Children, where heritage trains, model railways, LEGO, theatre and fun activities bring the station to life. Young and old railway enthusiasts alike can explore the fascinating world of trains up close.

Take a ride on a Vintage Train
During Vintage Trains for Children, Nordsjællands Veterantog operates vintage train services between Gilleleje and Mårum. The train is hauled by the historic 1952 HFHJ M8 diesel locomotive, with passenger carriages dating to the early 20th century. It is a chance for the whole family to experience what railway travel was like in days gone by, complete with the sounds, atmosphere and character of historic rolling stock.
Trains, LEGO and activities for children
Græsted Station offers activities for children with a wide range of interests. Around the station and in the marquees, families can discover model trains, build with LEGO and get creative at the drawing tables.
The Danish Museum of Science and Technology will also be taking part, alongside a solar telescope and Dronningmølle Camel Rental.
Theatre and model railways
Androkles and the Magical Animal Friends will provide theatrical entertainment, while the engine shed features a large LGB model railway and LEGO trains.
Outside, you can get even closer to the railway environment with the small 'Køf' shunting locomotive and experience the entertaining 'Det muntre Køkken '.
Relax and enjoy refreshments at Stationsgården
When it is time for a break from the trains and activities, families can relax at Stationsgården or in the station’s green spaces. A café, kiosk and various food and drink options are available.
You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks and enjoy a picnic in the station garden or at one of the tables and benches around the site.
A family day out at Græsted Station
Vintage Trains for Children brings together historic trains, play, creativity and family activities in the atmospheric surroundings of Græsted Station.
