Family Day at Munkeruphus – Creative activities for children and adults
Munkeruphus invites families to a day of artful exploration and outdoor fun in beautiful surroundings. A perfect outing for both kids and grown-ups.
Activities for the Whole Family
On Thursday, May 29th (Ascension Day), Munkeruphus invites you and your family to a fun and active day full of creativity. During the Family Day, you can enjoy a variety of activities that are both entertaining and a little challenging. Visit the family tent between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM – stay for five minutes or three hours. The Family Day is inspired by the works of Swedish artist Ingela Ihrman, whose exhibition will be on display at Munkeruphus from April 13th to August 10th.
Program
Toad Tour: Take your family on a toad-themed exhibition tour. Bring the little ones along to explore Ingela Ihrman’s artworks – including the toad doing gymnastic exercises and much more.
Toad Obstacle Course: Be a toad for a day and complete the fun and active obstacle course in the garden.
Skeletons: Unleash your creativity by making skeletons from natural materials inspired by the Queen. Create cyanotype prints with mini-skeletons to take home as a keepsake – or return them to nature by placing them in the forest or on the beach.
Tea Party with the Birch Tree Queen: Take a break and enjoy a warm cup of birch tea with your family and the Tree Queen in the garden.
Self-Guided Family Tour: Explore the art and nature on your own using the family guide. The guide is available with a museum ticket or at the family tent.
The day is for the whole family – children and adults of all ages (children must be accompanied by adults). Participation in the Family Day is free with a museum ticket and does not require registration – just stop by the family tent between 1:00 and 4:00 PM.
Ingela Ihrman – The Queen’s Gorge
Munkeruphus presents the first solo exhibition in Denmark by Swedish artist Ingela Ihrman. The Queen’s Gorge invites the audience into a sensuous universe where body, nature, and transformation merge.
Through humorous and poetic installations, sculptural costumes, and performances made from recycled materials, Ihrman explores humanity’s relationship with nature and the cultural meanings of the female body.
Experience both new works created specifically for Munkeruphus and selected installations previously shown at the Venice Biennale.
