During the autumn break, Frederiksborg invites children and their families to explore stars in every form – from the constellations of the night sky to the big names in royal portraits and modern art. With a telescope in hand, families will wander through the museum’s halls, spotting stars in ceilings, paintings, and contemporary portraits.
The tour begins with one of the museum’s most spectacular objects: the 400-year-old Gottorp Globe. This impressive model of the universe shows how people in the 1600s imagined the cosmos – full of imagination and stargazing dreams.

Build Your Own Telescope and Planet
In the castle’s former banquet hall, children and adults alike can let their imaginations run wild. Build your own telescope, design planets, and create a unique universe. These hands-on workshops spark curiosity and wonder – asking big questions like:
What does it mean to be a star? And how have humans envisioned the universe through the ages?

Daily Talks at 1 PM
Every weekday at 1 PM, museum guides share stories from Frederiksborg’s vast collection. These informal talks are perfect for families to learn together and dive deeper into the treasures of the past and present.
