Elite Series in H-Boat – Sailing, coastal life and guided tours in Gilleleje
A weekend of world-class experiences. Gilleleje Sailing Club proudly hosts a division of the Elite Series in H-Boat – a top-class sailing competition. Experience intense coastal races, harbour activities and vibrant city life when the world of sailing merges with the town atmosphere in the second weekend of May. Guided city tours by Gilleleje Museum add an extra cultural layer to the event.
World-class sailing
On 10 and 11 May 2025, some of Denmark’s best sailors will gather in Gilleleje for a division of the Elite Series – a prestigious series for H-Boats focusing on close and tactical racing. The races take place near the shore, offering spectators an exciting close-up experience.
Live experience from the shore
For the first time, races will be broadcast live on a big screen at the sailing club, accompanied by direct reports from the water. The spotlight will be on both local and leading crews, so visitors can follow the excitement closely.
Gilleleje town and harbour as the backdrop
Gilleleje Sailing Club collaborates with Gilleleje Trade and Tourist Association to create a festive atmosphere throughout the harbour and town. Activities, decorations and local offers turn the weekend into a holistic experience for locals and visitors alike.

Saturday, 10 May at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM – approx. 1-hour duration. Meeting point: By the anchor at the fish drying grounds.
Sunday, 11 May at 10:00 AM – approx. 2-hour duration including a visit to Gilleleje Museum. Meeting point: By the anchor at the fish drying grounds.
A tradition in the making
The Elite Series in H-Boat will return to Gilleleje in 2026 and 2027, promising even more weekends filled with sailing, coastal life and town atmosphere – both on land and at sea.
