The following is just a selection of the many activities you can experience during Culture Night in Frederiksværk. See the full program and times on the Culture Night website.

During Culture Night, you can experience the following:

Gjethuset, 4PM–10PM

Join an exciting guided tour, where you go behind the scenes in the historic building – from the old gunpowder mill and cannon foundry to today’s lively cultural center. Explore the architecture, atmosphere, and the technical machinery behind concerts and performances.

After the tour, the whole family can enjoy the café, where creativity and socializing are in focus – with board games, bead crafts, drawing materials, and small treats from the café’s menu.

Krudtværket, 7PM–8:30PM

Experience KRUDT after dark. Explore and find ghosts, or enjoy a pleasant walk through the dark gunpowder mill in the glow of lanterns.

Is Salonen, 5PM–9PM

Go behind the scenes in Is Salonen’s cozy ice cream workshop, where you can see how delicious ice cream is made entirely from scratch. Gain a unique insight into local food culture and ice cream production – from fresh organic milk to finished ice cream in the freezer.

Admission is free, but remember to collect a ticket before the start. Guided tours take place at 5PM, 6PM, and 7PM.

Halsnæs Town Hall, 4PM–8PM

Experience Halsnæs in a new way with VR glasses, quizzes, and guided tours. Try the success “Can you hit the budget?”, learn about the town hall’s history, see the mayoral chains, and gain insight into local democracy.

Activities are suitable for the whole family: guided tours of approx. 25 minutes, mayoral chain exhibition, quiz with ballot, and a chance to win cinema tickets. Warm pancakes are served along the way.

Times: 4:30PM, 5:30PM, 6:30PM, and 7:30PM.

Turbinehuset, 4PM–10PM

Take a journey back in time as Turbinehuset – soon 100 years old – opens its doors. Here, you can experience the impressive water-powered generator house, where water from Arresø once generated electricity for Anker Heegaard/D.F.J. factories.

The board is ready to tell you about the fascinating history of the house and show the old machinery, which symbolizes the raw water power that has driven Frederiksværk’s industrial development for over 300 years.
