See what lies hidden in the landscape: Exhibition at Esrum Abbey
A meadow or a fjord is more than nature – they also tell the story of people. In the exhibition Eye for Landscape at Esrum Abbey, you can explore how people have shaped the landscape over a thousand years.
People shape landscapes
What do you see when you look out across a meadow, a field, or a fjord? You see a landscape. But you also see a story about people and our way of being in the world.
The landscape we see today has been shaped and used by people for thousands of years. In the exhibition Eye for Landscape at Esrum Abbey, you can explore the stories held within these landscapes.

You are part of the exhibition
As you move through Eye for Landscape, you are invited to take part. Following the rhythm of the seasons, materials are gathered from the natural surroundings of Esrum Abbey. By seeing and touching them, you come closer to the nature that lives within our landscapes.
Along the way, you can also take part in ongoing workshops, read books, and solve small tasks.
