North Zealand's Nature – Explore Sand Dunes and the Troll Forest

The signposted hiking route, Halsninoen, takes you on a friendly varied 53 km. Trip from Hundested in the west to Strø Bjerge in the south.

Go from yellow dot to yellow dot through Tisvilde Hegn by the North coast. On the trip, you'll pass an abandoned village, castle ruins, Troldeskoven and fascinating raw nature that you don't normally associate with Denmark.

Melby Overdrev is the largest heath on Sealand and one of the most distinctive and exciting natural areas in Halsnæs. Take a walk, look at plants and insects, or bring your swimwear and jump into the water.

The crooked and gnarled old pine of the Troldeskov can be dated all the way back to the 18th century. As you move around the forest, you get the feeling of being part of an adventure.

Russia is called the area around Rudolph Tegner's Museum and Statue Park.

In Tisvilde Hegn, which is Sealand's largest heath, there are traces of an old castle ruin, a missing village and many other exciting cultural traces.

Tibirke Hills is a scenic and idyllic destination on the eastern edge of Tisvilde Hegn in beautiful North Zealand. This landscape is known for its large, rolling moraine slopes covered in grass and heather. There is also some tree growth and a few scattered houses in the area.

Gribskov is a natural gem with roots in Denmark’s ancient past. Discover stories of royal hunts, monastic ownership, and a living forest heritage in modern woodland management.

Take a walk in the beautiful Lyngbakker in Hundested. The area offers the most fantastic view of the fjord. Access to the Lyngbakkerne is from the parking lot in Søndergade. Additionally, there is parking available in the area.

Store Dyrehave was the forest of kings. It was used for hunting and horse stud and was surrounded by a stone dike, which kept deer and horses inside.

Originally, the Pilgrimage Routes were reserved for religious people using the Bible as their guidebook and penance songs as a motive wandering around in their search for at holy place.

The Par Force Hunting Landscape is a UNESCO-World Heritage. Store Dyrehave (the Great Deer Park), Gribskov and Jægersborg Dyrehave (Jægersborg Deerpark) is designed as a stage for the great act unfolding when the scene for absolute and powerful king engaged in his favourite type of hunting: The par force hunting.
