Photographer Daniel Overbeck leads a busy life in Copenhagen, filled with exciting projects and a fast pace. But when he drives toward North Zealand, he’s struck by a unique feeling that he truly needs in his life.
Daniel Overbeck set off for North Zealand four years ago in his old 1995 car. He didn’t have much of a plan, but he had packed a sleeping bag, some instant coffee, and his trusty old camera.
“I just knew I had to go, and I knew I had to bring back a lot of photos,” he recalls.
That first trip was followed by many more, and those countless journeys to North Zealand marked the beginning of Daniel’s career as a photographer.
NORTH ZEALAND IS SOMETHING SPECIAL. Even though Daniel Overbeck has driven through North Zealand countless times, the journey still has an almost therapeutic effect on him. “There’s no doubt that North Zealand gives me something truly unique that you just can’t find in Copenhagen. Every time I drive toward North Zealand, I get this feeling of being able to breathe again.”

The journey began in North Zealand, and it quickly turned into many more trips.
