Medieval Day for Children at Æbelholt Kloster

On Sunday, August 18th, Museum Nordsjælland invites you to an exciting medieval day for the little ones at Æbelholt Kloster. Let the children immerse themselves in the mystique of the past and experience a day filled with fun activities and historical discoveries

Explore the secrets of the monastery ruins through a unique treasure hunt, tailored to awaken children's curiosity and sense of adventure.

Solve puzzles about the monastery garden and its herbs and flowers' healing properties, and let creativity flourish in various workshops.

Children can participate in a range of activities, including stone carving for the construction of a monastery gate, knight school to learn the noble arts, churning butter and baking bread over an open fire. They can also try their hand at dyeing yarn, creating mosaics from beach stones and shells, and even catch a glimpse of the past with a metal detector.

  • Date: Sunday, August 18th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Ticket Prices: Adults 60 DKK, children over 3 years 60 DKK. All activities are included in the ticket price. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance on the day.
  • There will be opportunities to purchase refreshments such as water, juice, sandwiches, tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. You are also welcome to bring your packed lunches.
