Stay Overnight on the Halsninoen Trail
The Halsninoen hiking route calls for overnight stays if you plan to walk the full length of its roughly 53 km. Along the way you’ll find hotels, inns and B&Bs in Ølsted, Frederiksværk, Melby, Lynæs and Hundested, as well as five campsites — some of which offer cabins and glamping tents.
The nature along the route also offers several shelters in the forests. Some shelters must be booked in advance through the Danish Nature Agency’s booking system.
You can freely pitch your own tent in the woods of Grønnesse Forest near Hundested, Brødemose Forest near Frederiksværk and Lyngby Forest near Ølsted — a practice known as free tenting. At Lynæs Harbour, you’ll find a lovely kayak shelter right by the water, and there are surf shacks and glamping tents available for rent at Lynæs Surfcenter.
On the harbour in Hundeste,d there are cosy harbour cabins located close to cafés, restaurants and local attractions. There are five campsites on Halsnæs, all located close to the hiking route.
