Creative summer activities for the whole family
Frederiksborg invites visitors to creative holiday experiences inspired by the special exhibition GOBELIN – Threads Through Time. Children and adults alike can explore colours, patterns and textile techniques through a range of creative activities.
In the open workshop on the ground floor, guests can try weaving and embroidery. Create embroidered postcards inspired by the museum’s collection and make personal summer keepsakes using yarn and thread in new patterns and forms.
Visitors can also contribute to a collaborative artwork on the loom, where new colours and shapes are continuously added throughout the summer.
Historic experiences inside the castle
Frederiksborg Castle is home to some of Denmark’s most impressive historic interiors. In the Castle Chapel, hundreds of coats of arms belonging to knights of the Danish orders can be seen, while the Queen’s Oratory presents a new display exploring the history and symbolism of the royal orders.
The museum visit also includes the grand Great Hall and the Baroque Audience Chamber, where the castle’s rich history and architecture unfold.
