Herring in the Museum Garden | Summer traditions at Gilleleje Museum
As summer reaches its peak in Gilleleje, Gilleleje and Surroundings Museum Association invites visitors to a charming gathering in the old museum garden. Guests can enjoy fried herring served the traditional “Gilleleje way” with rye bread, soft onions, sweet mustard and jam – accompanied by local traditions and a relaxed summer atmosphere.

A local culinary tradition in historic surroundings
In the garden at Gilleleje Museum, visitors can enjoy a traditional serving of fried herring along with selected beverages. Sausages are available for younger guests, making the event suitable for the whole family.
The cosy garden setting creates the perfect backdrop for a relaxed summer experience centred around community, traditions and local heritage.
