Explore Frederiksborg’s Baroque Garden with a Guided Tour
Take part in a historical walk through the Baroque Garden at Frederiksborg Castle and discover one of Denmark’s most impressive garden landscapes. The garden was created by Frederik IV in 1725 as a grand expression of the ideals of the time, when nature was shaped according to strict geometric principles and royal power was displayed through architecture.
The Baroque Garden existed for only a few decades before changing fashions led to it being covered over and transformed into a park. It was not until the late twentieth century that the garden was recreated based on the original drawings by landscape architect Johan Cornelius Krieger. Today, visitors can experience the reconstructed garden and learn about its remarkable transformation through the centuries.
