The elves have been up to mischief

The mill’s elves have been causing mischief, and it is up to the children to find out what has happened. Clues are hidden around the mill, helping them solve the mystery, save Christmas and find their way to a small prize.

The mill is decorated with a Christmas tree, lights and elves, while Christmas music adds to the festive atmosphere.

Christmas and traditional crafts

Christmas at the mill is also an opportunity to discover some of the traditional crafts connected with Ramløse Mill. In the shoemaker’s workshop, visitors can learn how shoes were once made, while the clockmaker’s workshop is home to old clocks, springs and tools.

Try the cooper’s tools

In the cooper’s workshop, children and adults can discover how wooden barrels were traditionally made. The workshop contains a collection of specialist tools once used by coopers, and visitors can try some of them and see how a barrel is assembled.

Telephones bring generations together

At the old inn, the small telephone exchange is surrounded by telephones from different periods. Children can discover phones from before smartphones became part of everyday life, while adults may recognise mobile phones and landlines from their own childhood or youth.

A Christmas tradition for the whole family

Christmas at Ramløse Mill brings generations together through festive traditions, history and traditional crafts. The event is organised jointly by the Ramløse Mill Association and Museum Nordsjælland and continues a long-standing Christmas tradition at the old mill.
