See the mill in action

When the wind conditions are right, volunteers from the Ramløse Mill Association set the mill in motion. With enough wind, visitors can see grain being ground into flour and discover how wind power was once harnessed for practical work.

Children can also try grinding flour themselves using a small millstone or turn the handle of a hand-operated mill. Another small machine shows how oats can be turned into rolled oats.

Bread and pancakes over the bonfire

Weather permitting, the volunteers light a bonfire where visitors can bake traditional Danish twist bread or pancakes and enjoy the autumn atmosphere around the old mill.

Discover traditional crafts

The workshops in the museum building offer an insight into crafts from times gone by. Visitors can learn about the cooper’s craft in the cooper’s workshop, while the shoemaker’s workshop introduces another traditional trade.

From old clocks to telephones

In the clockmaker’s workshop, visitors can take a closer look at old clocks, springs and the tools of the trade. At the old inn, the story moves closer to the present day with a display of telephones from different periods.

The collection includes early mobile phones as well as landline telephones by the small telephone exchange – objects that may bring back memories for adults and spark curiosity in younger visitors.
