An Active Day in Frederiksværk – Nature, History and Great Food
Start your day at Is Salonen, where you can enjoy coffee and breakfast before heading to Arsenalet and the walking trail Kongemagt og Vandets Kraft. Here you can choose between three routes, each offering beautiful nature and views over Frederiksværk’s canals:
- Green route (5 km)
- Yellow route (7 km)
- Red route (11 km)
For lunch, dine at the restaurant in Hotel Frederiksværk, close to the iconic Gjethuset, where concerts and exciting events often take place. After lunch, explore the canals on foot or by bike and see how the old gunpowder town has been transformed into a lively cultural environment.
Finish the day — and rest your tired legs — with an overnight stay at Hotel Frederiksværk or at Nordsjællands Ferieboliger, both located right in the heart of town.
💡 Tip: If you have time the next day, try the Arrenæs route — a scenic walk with views over Arresø and glimpses of Ramløse, Vinderød and Annisse.
Hundested & Lynæs – Sea Air, Craft and Active Coastal Atmosphere
Bring your bike along and begin the day at Spodsbjerg Lighthouse and Kikhavn, where the view over the sea and the little coastal houses make for a fantastic start.
Then head to Hundested and visit Backhaus Brown and Bendix Copenhagen — two places known for fascinating craft and design. On the harbour, enjoy a piece of cake and the lively atmosphere before lunch with a view over the water at Halsnæs Bryghus or Knud – Et Spisehus.
After lunch, make your way to Lynæs. Here you can visit the surf centre, take a walk around the harbour or discover handcrafted ceramics in the self-serve cabinets from Ler i Lynæs.
Round off the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Lynæs Surfcenter, where you’ll wake up to the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea.
💡 Tip: Spend the morning on a walk along Halsninoen from Lynæs Harbour to Sølager — a beautiful route through raw North Zealand nature with views over the fjord.
