Nordmandsdalen – unique sculptures in Fredensborg Palace Garden
Sculptures in royal gardens typically depict the exalted gods and goddesses of antiquity. But in Fredensborg Palace Garden, you’ll find a truly unique attraction: 70 sandstone sculptures of ordinary fishermen and farmers, portrayed as they looked in 18th-century Norway and the Faroe Islands. The sculpture group is called the Valley of the Norsemen (Nordmandsdalen), and it was initiated by King Frederik V in 1764.

Frederiksborg Castle Chapel
Frederiksborg Castle Chapel, the western wing of the castle, is a magnificently decorated and impressive room, planned and built as the private chapel of the royal family. During absolutism, the Danish kings were anointed here. Today, the castle chapel is part of the Frederiksborg National History Museum. However, it is also a parish church, with ecclesiastical acts such as worship, baptisms, confirmations and weddings.

Søren Kierkegaard Stone
Søren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) was a famous Danish theologian and philosopher who is still to this day considered one of the greatest Danish thinkers. A memorial stone was raised for the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard at Gilbjerg Hoved.
