Gilleleje Wine – Quality wines in the heart of Gilleleje

Gilleleje Wine is both a vineyard and a winery near Gilleleje. The wines are grown, harvested, produced and bottled locally, with a focus on craftsmanship, the cool climate and the area’s distinctive terroir.

Cultivation in the North Zealand climate

The vineyards primarily cultivate the grape varieties Solaris, Muscaris and Pinot Noir Précoce. These varieties are selected for their suitability to the cool Danish climate, where they develop fresh acidity and aromatic character.

The vines are planted with a focus on quality rather than volume, and vineyard management is continuously adapted to the growing conditions of each vintage.

Estate winery on the farm

All wines from Gilleleje Wine are grown, harvested, produced and bottled locally at Østergaard in Hågendrup. The winery works with both stainless steel tanks and oak ageing, depending on the desired style and grape variety.

The range includes:

  • Dry white wines made from Solaris

  • White blends of Solaris and Muscaris

  • Oak-aged white wines

  • Skin-contact orange wine

  • Red wine made from Pinot Noir Précoce

Local roots in Gilleleje

Gilleleje Wine is rooted in the local community and the landscape surrounding the Kattegat. Production is small-scale and characterised by craftsmanship and close ties to both nature and place.

The wines are available at the farm shop on Almevej in Gilleleje or can be ordered directly from the winery.
