The Chamber of Orders at Frederiksborg Castle
In the former royal prayer chamber, Frederiksborg’s collection of orders of chivalry, medals and honours is presented. Here you can see some of Denmark’s most distinguished orders, meet people who have been honoured for their contributions, and hear their personal stories about the meaning of recognition.
Orders of chivalry through the centuries
The Danish orders of chivalry have roots dating back several hundred years. In Frederiksborg Castle Church, coats of arms of Knights of the Order of the Elephant and Grand Cross Knights of the Order of the Dannebrog are displayed, and in the Chamber of Orders you can learn about the history of the Danish honours system and the traditions that continue to this day.
