Dining experiences at Bolværket

A canal-view eatery

On the ground floor, Bolværket serves flavourful Danish/Italian dishes with a strong focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Everything is made from scratch – from wood-fired gourmet pizzas to everyday favourites and themed communal dinners.

Part of the cultural experience

Bolværket also caters for house events and often hosts special cultural evenings where food and creativity come together.

A library with a view

The library inside Kulturhavn Gilleleje offers books, films, computer access and a quiet space to enjoy the view over Gilleleje. There’s also a cosy playroom for the little ones – a space to read, explore or just unwind.

Modern cinema for every taste

Upstairs, visitors find two state-of-the-art cinema auditoriums showing a wide variety of new releases. The ground floor kiosk sells snacks and drinks – all of which may be enjoyed during the film, including refreshments from Bolværket.

H2: Changing art exhibitions

The gallery corridor on the ground floor features rotating exhibitions by professional artists. Many works are for sale, making it possible to take home a special piece of Gilleleje.

Snedkeriet – local craft and vintage finds

Across the canal is Snedkeriet – home to shops with artisan crafts and jewellery. On the upper floor, a Red Cross shop offers a treasure trove of stylish second-hand clothing and unique items.

During the summer, Kulturhavn Gilleleje is full of life and laughter with a wide range of fun activities for children. From spontaneous play to organised events, it’s a welcoming space for families all season long.
